Hola, Todos –
Actividades –
See “Va Pa´Lante below.
Otras cosas –
Titular – Gauidó anuncia paro escalonado (Guaidó announces stepped strike) – After meeting with various unions, Juan Guaidó announced a stepped strike of public employees.

Hammerhead shark
Sharks – Researchers are monitoring young hammerhead and black point sharks in their breeding grounds in the Galápagos in order to find out how the marine reserve can protect them in their first months and during their migrations. Earlier studies concentrated on adults. <Protection? Keep Chinese fishing boats out of the area.>
“Va Pa´Lante” – A group of 30 young people formed to propose a new campaign to respect the rights of foreigners. <They’re focusing on Venezuelans and not Estadounidenses who’ve been insulted by gringo pricing.> Venezuelans have suffered from xenophobia and the program seeks to bring the extranjeros and locals together. There will be an entrepreneurship fair el 16 & 17/3 from 10-17:00 at PRAC (Bolívar y Huayna Cápac) with 45 people offering goods and services including food, desserts, and crafts; carpenters, stylists, child and elder care givers, plumbers, electricians and more. The goal is to give the citizenry an opportunity to have contact with the foreign community. <And more contact than you get from handing out change at intersections.>
Basura – Garbage is more common around bus stops and there will be a campaign at schools to educate people not to litter. Part of the problem is that there used to be 3,000 “papeleras” (waste paper baskets) at stops, but now there are only about 1,000 due to misuse. People were putting household garbage in big bags into the bus stop bins and dogs were scattering the garbage.
Voto 2019 – There will be series of articles for the next 14 days in El Mercurio featuring the candidates for the city council by party affiliation. There will be three candidates from each party: one for the north, one for the south and the third from the rural sector. Go to www.elmercurio.com.ec to read the articles which are on page 3A of the printed paper.
Voting – If you plan on voting, go to www.cen.gov.ec to find out where. But first you have to register to vote at the CNE office.
Fake gynecologist – Police arrested a man who pretended to be a gynecologist at the Vicente Corral Moscoso Hospital early Monday morning. Early reports said he was wearing a doctor’s coat and entered the hospital where he touched “partes íntimas” of pregnant women and molested another. Doctors in the hospital called the police.
And that’s all for today so Hasta ? –
