Come to the Grand Opening and see what all the excitement is about! Please join us and welcome Melissa Maher to her new formal setting, The Black Olive Hotel and Bistro. It’s located next to the Spanish steps, on the river opposite Parque de la Madre in the old One Bar location. Renovations and updates are coming along nicely and she would like to introduce everyone to a taste of things to come.

There will be a free welcome drink and a variety of hors d’oeuvres including her popular boom boom shrimp, bruschetta and chicken pâté.

Entrée’s will be an introductory selection of vegetarian ratatouille with pasta, chicken, beef/pork and a seafood dish of Corvina.

Come and join the fun. Weather permitting there will be live jazz on the patio!
Dinner reservations are suggested but not necessary.
Next Friday – 10th and Saturday – 11th. From 5pm until 10-11pm.

      i’m trying to update the post for tomorrow but it may be to big. The menu has changed. Here is some of the update, should be exceptional;

      The fun starts at 5:00 and weather permitting, Katy and John from the Jazz Society will be there for live jazz on the patio! There will be a free welcome drink of Sangria and a variety of small hors d’oeuvres including traditional hummus and pita, squares of quiche Florentine and Lorraine and bruschetta with Black Olive tapenade.

      For dinner (reservations recommended) the appetizers will include French Onion soup topped with a gruyere cheese gratiné, a Napoleon of potatoes with chives, goat cheese, a concasse of tomatoes with a balsamic reduction and extra virgin olive oil, Shrimp tempura with a sweet and spicy lemon grass and guava mayonnaise, Classic Cesar salad with anchovies and fresh croutons and Black pepper Chicken liver pate served with fresh baked Rosemary Focaccia, grain mustard and pickles.

      Entrée’s will be a selection of dishes including Ratatouille on rigatoni with Manchego cheese and fresh basil, her popular Chicken pot pie, whole Trout “en papillote” with white wine, fine herbs, red onions and limon, served with linguini “aglio e olio” and asparagus, Filet Mignon wrapped in bacon, with sautéed spinach, cream and red wine sauce with oyster mushrooms and gratin dauphinoise and also Salmon “end croute” in a cream, white wine, leak and mushroom sauce served with tomatoes “Provencal”.

      Desserts planned are profiteroles, chocolate fondue, bread pudding with a rum caramel and possibly crème caramel.
