Book study and discussion

Jan 10, 2017 |

The Cuenca Shambhala Buddhist Group will be hosting an on-going book study group. Two of the members of the meditation group will be leading the discussion on the first book, “How to Free Your Mind, The Practice of Tara the Liberator” by Thubten Chodron. These are some words from the Introduction: “This book is directed toward a general audience. One need not be a Buddhist to read it or gain something from it. If you are curious about Buddhist deities, if you want to learn how to free your mind from disturbing emotions such as clinging attachment and anger, if you are interested in female Buddhas, you will find something of interest in these pages.”

The first meeting will be Saturday, January 14 at 3:30 PM at the Windhorse Café on Calle Larga and Hermano Miguel. At this first meeting, a video of “White Tara: The Blessings of Healing and Longevity” with Gehlec Rimpoche (an expert on Tara) will be shown. There will be copies of the book available for $4. All book study meetings are free and no reservations are required.

January 14th, from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM, Windhorse Cafe on Calle Larga and Hermano Miguel, Cuenca.
