It’s Time for Shakespeare!

Mar 13, 2017 |

Tim Saukiavicus, residing in Colombia, will be our first artist in residence here at Fishbon del Sur!
ORIENTATION:
Friday, April 14th 1-3pm
The orientation will guide participants on choices of material and impart basic prep guidelines.
CLASSES:
Wednesday thru Sunday, April 19 – 23 from 1-5:30pm (includes a 30 minute nutrition break) Each participant will work on a soliloquy and one scene with a partner. Each day there will be time dedicated to physical, vocal and text exercises. The emphasis is on removing the pressure to “perform” and replacing it with the impulse to “play”. By using Shakespeare ’s COMPLETE WORKS, Tim mines great words, cool scenes, and funny stuff for challenging the participants.
TWO SHOWCASE PERFORMANCES:
April 29 & 30, Saturday and Sunday 7PM ($10 donation for audience members)
COST:
$50 includes 22 hours of instruction, staging time, rehearsals and 2 performances. This fee goes towards the artist’s airfare/incidentals. Fishbon is donating our artist in residency space for 2+ weeks.

All held at:

Shakespeare’s greatest composition is not well known. It is his 38th and final work – “Queen Alexandra and Murray”. I wish to perform a soliloquy from this masterpiece. Sample dialogue:
Queen Alexandra: “What could it have been that we have seen? Is it not in my marrow that we are onto one and one’s self?
Murray: “Why are you hollering? You’ll wake up the whole castle”.

    Does Tim know this one?
