Tuesday Cinema at the Alianza Francesa


For the month of June, the Alliance Française of Cuenca offers free French cinema sessions every Tuesday. This month, come see the selection of moovies that were selected for their dorector to the Canens Festival. At 7pm, come and enjoy our projections in the auditorium of the Alliance Française.

Here is the line-up that is waiting for you:

👉Tuesday, June 7th, 2022: Amin (2018) Synopsis : Nine years ago, Amin came from Senegal to work in France, leaving his wife Aisha and their three children behind. In France, there is nothing but work for him, no friends but the people he lives with at his workers’ home.

👉Tuesday, June 14th, 2022: La vie des Morts (1991) Synopsis : After a young man attempts to commit suicide, his family and friends spend a night together in a house whilst he lies between life and death in a hospital bed. Fearing the worst, three generations await the news that is sure to come, and as they do so the meaninglessness of their own lives becomes apparent…

👉Tuesday, June 21th, 2022 : Oh Mercy! (2019) Synopsis :Christmas night in Roubaix. Police chief Daoud roams the city in which he grew up. Burned-out cars, altercation… At the station, Louis Coterelle is the new arrival, fresh out of the academy. Daoud and Louis will be confronted with the murder of an old woman. Two young women are being questioned. Claude and Marie – destitute, alcoholic, lovers…

👉Tuesday, June 28th, 2022 : Les Indes Galantes (2021) Synopsis : It’s a first for 30 dancers of hip-hop, krump, break, voguing… A first for the director Clément Cogitore and for the choreographer Bintou Dembélé. And a first for the Paris Opera. By bringing together urban dance and opera singing, they reinvent together Jean-Philippe Rameau’s baroque masterpiece, Les Indes Galantes. From rehearsals to public performances, we follow a human adventure and an encounter with political stakes: can a new generation of artists take over the Bastille today?
