Thanksgiving Dinner Concert at Jazz Society Café

Thanksgiving Dinner Concert at Jazz Society Café

In over a decade in Cuenca, Ecuador, my son and I needed to adopt two primary cultures. One is embracing Ecuadorian culture, learning the language engaging with our Latino friends. Two, the essential one is the big ex-pat community with their arms wide open who welcomed us, and we felt the warmth and comfort of a big family like we used to have back home.

As Filipinos, turkey preparation is uncommon and unfamiliar to us other than cooking it like chicken adobo. It took time for us to get comfortable and truly understand the feeling of the tradition and perfecting traditional Thanksgiving meals.

Yes, we love cooking for you all no matter what time of the year, but preparing a Thanksgiving Meal became our particular part of the year. We always look forward to it. We would love to see your wonderful smile in person, so we can serve you at our table and thank you for all the beautiful things you have done for us.

This November 24th, join us at our 5th Annual Thanksgiving Dinner on Thursday at 3 pm, and the music starts at 4 pm.

Traditional Dinner $30
Vegetarian Dinner $25

Dinner includes a glass of …

Cooking WIth Rey “Authentic Southeast Asian Cuisine”

Cooking WIth Rey “Authentic Southeast Asian Cuisine”

Recommendation for Sreymom – “Cooking With Rey” by Greg Goodwin
Cambodian cuisine – private dining

If you haven’t tried Rey’s exquisite Cambodian cuisine you are missing out on one of the best meals in town as well as a great experience with the wonderful hosts, Joe and Rey, in their beautiful setting.
We’ve, been there several times. My wife Pamela and I have never been disappointed. We’ve introduced many friends and will probably continue to add more to the list.
If you’ve not been, want something creative and to experience wonderful exotic flavors, you must try it and you won’t be disappointed. Cambodian is not as hot as Thai food can be, but you can choose your heat, Rey will be happy to accommodate. But the flavors will surely give your taste buds a whirl.
————————–
————————–
MARSHALL: Rey and Joe have a beautiful home, the downstairs of which is fashioned as the restaurant. The four course meal, with wine or cocktail and coffee or tea, is an ample gourmet meal, prepared deliciously and attractively using authentic, healthy methods. Very well priced for the entire experience. The beef dish in the photo uses the …

Repetitive Sung Prayer
The characteristic of Taizé worship that is most familiar the use of a kind of repetitive prayer set to simple musical lines. What is unique to the prayer of Taizé is the adaptation of the repetitive form to simple musical lines and core biblical texts that can be sung by a whole assembly of various nationalities, languages, and denominations.

Silence
Another characteristic of Taizé worship that has been a welcome gift to Episcopal worship is its generous use of silence. Like repetition, the use of silence in worship has a rich history that many modern Christians no longer experience.
