From 5:30 to 7:30 pm, Thursday, December 16, you’ll have an opportunity to visit CETAP-Lucy in the rural barrio of Chilcapamba, to tour the facility and see what this twelve-year-old educational support program does, as you enjoy a meal with entertainment in the newly opened Lucy Bakery and Grill. Funds raised will be used to treat 35 needy children to a traditional Christmas meal and party.

Your $46.00 ticket includes:

  • Transportation to and from El Centro (leaving Otorongo Plaza at 5:00 pm)
  • Your choice of roast turkey or BBQ pork rib dinner prepared by award-winning chef, Andres Illescas

Su Terry Plays Rare Japanese Flute Concert

A very unusual concert takes place this Wednesday, Dec. 8 at the Saladentro gallery, 4-78 Paseo 3 de Noviembre y Bajada Todos Santos. The current exhibition is the white-on-white paintings of Diego Jaramillo. As an accompaniment to these extraordinary and sublime works, Su Terry will be playing a rare Japanese flute called “shakuhachi.”

This is the very first shakuhachi concert ever in Ecuador!  Accompanying Su will be young master percussionist Pedro Ortiz. They will shape a most inspiring aesthetic environment for you during this presentation: you will be surrounded by Diego Jaramillo’s white landscapes, and the ethereal sounds of shakuhachi with hand percussion instruments.

There are very few shakuhachi masters in the world, because of its difficulty.  The instrument is said to have originated in Egypt, passing through China and India before achieving its legendary status in the Edo Period of Japan, where it was played by the Ronin—Samurai warriors who had lost their masters and were thus prohibited from carrying swords. They played for alms and meditation–as well as having the robust root end of the bamboo flute to use as a weapon, if needed!

We are a group of friends that every year make special programs for kids in need in Molleturo, there are 3 villages were we go, those are Arquillo, Huigra and San Antonio.
We always buy with the funds we collected, toys, candies bags, also if we can we buy bags with groceries.
Sometimes we also had been able to give for the old people also grocery bags.

We are making a SOLIDARITY GARAGE SALE, we would like and appreciate your presence and help, we gonna have clothes, shoes, house’s ornaments , furniture, and more… but if you can also donate anything we can use for the program in the village, we will be very thankful.
