The second class in our five part series presented by The OASIS Center for Conscious Living (the first on the Evolution of Consciousness is Wed Sept 12) will focus first on the purpose and meaning of A Course in Miracles (ACIM). Called in “christian” terms The Second Coming, ACIM is a profound clarification of the teaching of Jesus, particularly related to our evolution in our time. A general readiness arose in the 1960’s allowing some to have “ears to hear” the message of Christ Consciousness. The third level of our consciousness as a species is this spiritual mind, global consciousness, or Christ Mind, which sees as a priority what is best for the whole, not simply for the tribe or the self. The essential teaching of ACIM leads to our awareness of our function, which translates into our happiness and peace of mind.
Eckhart Tolle wrote a very significant little book with the title The Power of Now, published by New World Library in 1999. In this book he defines God as “the unmanifested” and this brilliant phrase shifted the whole language from ACIM toward an “energy language” which has a universal application. Again our function is stated clearly, that we become the portal through which “the unmanifested” manifests in the space-time world. Simply understanding this function and fulfilling it is the key to our happiness and a purpose-filled life.
