Cuenca Visual Arts Gallery is holding a new exhibition “Connections” By Boris Ordoñez Petroff.
Boris Ordonez Petroff has a long trajectory beginning in 1983 with his first art show in Monroe Michigan Art Festival and his latest work being shown in 2016, 2017 and 2018 in Germany and Holland.
The work seeks to disturb the observer in order to create interest in the questions that this generates about the state of being, wrapped in a world of uncertainty and confusion where answers are not found in the natural, material, or in the sense of being. This discomfort suggests and proposes that connections and disconnections exist that reveal to us who we are and who we are not.
The works are a desperate cry of the urgent necessity to “educate man so he can understand his own kind”. As a consequence, it is evident that the propaedeutics of art to achieve an end, in this way establishing a timeline and a social standing for the works. The work is not hedonistic, in other words, it is not produced in order to create pleasure in its viewers, but to go beyond reason in benefit of those observers, entering the soul and the spirit even to the eternal.
We look forward to seeing you!!!
