The Sordid Tale of Political Campaign Finance in the U.S.

The Supreme Court’s decision in the Citizens United case is only the latest twist in the tale. Come learn the history of campaign finance, or money in politics. Join in the discussion as we discover how this state of affairs impacts each of us as individuals and influences which candidates get our vote.

IE would like to thank its members for voting on topics of interest for 2019. This upcoming event will cover the increasing effect of money in politics, and how big money donors influence policy in every field of governance to the detriment of the ordinary voter.

Future meetings will cover other topics in which members expressed interest, including voter suppression, economic inequality, climate change, and more.

*The Castle – On the Tomebamba River, with two entrances: On 3 de Noviembre (200 feet downriver from the Broken Bridge), and from Bajada de Todos los Santos (500 feet downhill from Todos Santos Church).
