Schedules will be announced soon, Aeroregional said in a statement Monday. It said it would operate six round-trip flights a week between Cuenca, Quito and Guayaquil and two between Quito and Santa Rosa in El Oro Province.

The airline currently has two Boeing 737-500 aircraft with a capacity for 129 passengers but says it is in negotiations to purchase another.

Aeroregional joins Tame, Latam and Aerogal (Avianca Ecuador) airlines in Ecuador’s domestic market.
