“Casa Aparte” (Separate House) – The “Cuarto Aparte” group will hold “Casa Aparte” an event parallel to but independent from the Bienal. The historic house at Gran Colombia 11-34 will be home to this event which runs from el lunes hasta el jueves.

Agenda items –

Exposición – “Llueve Afuera” by painter Pablo Cardoso will be at Saladentro (Paseo 3 de Noviembre 3 y Bajada de Todos Santos). This show is a parallel event to the XIV Bienal de Cuenca.

Fiesta – The French-Ecuadorian Chamber of Commerce will hold the Fiesta del Beaujolais Nouveau el próximo miércoles a las 19:00 in the Alianza Francesa. <No, I don’t know if they’re going to be offering free tastings. That’s your job to find out.>

Cuenca bus drivers are trained in customer relations.

Teatro – As part of the Family Sundays program, Atrapasueños (calle Juan Bautista Vásquez 4-131) will stage “Barro y Cemento” Sunday (domingo) a las 11:00.

Danza – There will be an intensive improvisation workshop given by “EspacioDanza” on the 23,24,& 25/11 at various times. Cost: $45.00.

Nacimientos – CIDAP is preparing an exhibit for diciembre with more or less 60 of the 80 nativity scenes in their reserves.

Carpa Comic 2018 – The 2018 Comic Tent convention which started ayer (Saturday) and will run to el domingo, will bring together collectors of toys, video games and science fiction. Cumbre – On viernes, Pres. Moreno asked Iberoamerican leaders attending the 26th Iberoamerica Summit to talk and to deal with the migration tragedy in the region. The motto of the Summit is “Iberoamérica próspera, inclusiva y sostenible.” He said that motto should be the deepest desire of all the member states. <Moreno is quoted extensively in this article. Capacitación a tranportistas – Bus drivers are continuing with training this weekend with the goal of improving service to bus riders. The training is being given by EMOV, The Department of Social Development, Acción Social, and the Department for Planning and Management for Social and Gender Equity. <Now that looks like a committee that would put together a presentation that could even put Michael Jackson to sleep.>

Bus monitors – EMOV employees are riding buses in plain clothes. This was a request from riders as a way to improve service. EMOV is has distributed from 4-8 agents in different areas of the city. <Lets hope the worst bus drivers don’t know who these agents are.>
