Video: The ayahuasca experience in the most psychedelic village on earth

Sep 25, 2015 | 0 comments

This 22-minute documentary video tells the story of an indigenous village in southeastern Ecuador near the Peruvian border, where the hallucinogenic drink ayahuasca plays a central role in the lives of residents. Concocted from several Amazonian plants, ayahuasca is used for a variety of ceremonial purposes and is considered to have spiritual qualities. In the native Shuar language, it is referred to as the “vine of the soul.”

The video also offers a look at the daily lives of villagers, how they work, govern themselves, and participate in community activities.
