In the month of September of last year, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a resolution through which, as of September 1ST, Venezuelan citizens who are irregular in Ecuador, could register on the website estoyaqui.ec, and after that registration they could apply for a temporary visa.
The same resolution is provided for the citizens of the rest of the nationalities as of November 16th, 2022, the same registration can be made at the same website estoyaqui.ec, but unfortunately there is still not an option for obtaining any type of visa.
According to officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Azogues, the Quito offices are working to draw up a regulation that allows people of other nationalities that are not Venezuelans to obtain a visa, fulfilling the requirement of registration on the aforementioned site.
According to the Department of Migration, the registration of foreign citizens who are irregular in Ecuador can be done until August 31, 2023.
If you are irregular at the moment, go and register on the website estoyaqui.ec, this will be a requirement for your visa application, or if you want to leave Ecuador the registration certificate the Migration department provides you will be enough so that you can be exempt from any migratory penalty.

We have special recognition for all pets in our try-outs. Pups passing four simple tests will be invited to train with us the following week with a hospital visit the week of May 12th. This is such a rewarding and flexible volunteer experience for you and your best friend. Don’t miss out! One of the key components of this reform is the increase in the Value Added Tax (IVA) from 12% to 15% for certain goods in the basic basket. However, amid these changes, health services have remained exempt from this tax. This paper aims to analyze the implications of the proposed tax reform on health services in Ecuador, focusing on the significance of the exemption and its impact on accessibility to healthcare for the Ecuadorian population.
The proposed tax reform in Ecuador aims to generate additional revenue for the government by increasing the IVA on select goods. While this may impact the affordability of certain important consumer goods, it is imperative to note that health services have been explicitly excluded from this tax increase because health services are a basic right of human beings and are also protected by the Ecuadorian Constitution. Services such as private health insurance, consultations with medical professionals, medications, laboratory tests, hospitalization expenses, dental services, and veterinary care for pets continue to be exempt from IVA.
The exemption of health services from the IVA increase not only safeguards access to healthcare for Ecuadorians but also supports the sustainability of the healthcare sector. What does Hogar de Esperanza do with your donations of clothing and household items? First and foremost, we give them away to those who are most in need of them. Great care is taken to make sure that they get exactly what they need. Any extra items are sold in Esperanza Thrift Shop, where all of the proceeds go back into directly supporting the foundation’s work of helping those in need.
Are you moving soon – perhaps across town or maybe even back home – and you have items that you can’t take with you? Do you wish you had someone to come carry away those items remaining after your moving sale, that you don’t know what to do with? Were you just spring-cleaning last week, and came across clothes in your closets that you no longer wanted? If you would like to do some incredible things with those items you no longer need or want, let us turn them into something valuable to help those in need.
We accept anything that you wish to donate, and put it to immediate use. A reminder to bring your best friend to Try-Outs on Saturday, May 4th at 10 at Parque de la Madre. Four simple tests will help Social Vision and Fundacion FAAN select pups for training and final certification for Perros de Esperanza to spread love and hope to Cuenca’s Hospital Patients. These tests include 1. a touch test on your dog’s body for reaction, 2. gentle eating of treats, 3. a hospital bed and wheelchair simulation with a patient, and 4. noise test. All pups trying out this Saturday will be recognized and pups passing the review will be invited to training and introduction to a hospital environment. This is a flexible volunteer opportunity for you and your best friend! FAAN Dogs for Adoption will also be available for a Meet and Greet.

We are launching our “We Believe” Campaign to promote animal adoption and FAAN’s God-Parenting Program that enables animal lovers who are unable to adopt for reasons like travel, having too many pups, not being in Cuenca or your landlord is not pet friendly, to become a Godparent to one of our FAAN Shelter Dogs.

When you Godparent a FAAN Shelter Dog and help pay for their care, (Food, Flea Medication, Medical treatments) you will receive a picture of your Fundacion FAAN dog, and our volunteers will keep you posted on your dog’s well-being and adoption.
