The non-profit organization Ecuador Cares explains its work for abandoned children and the elderly at Hogar León in Cuenca. The focus is the girls who must leave Hogar when they turn 18, many of whom will have limited skills to face life on the outside. Ecuador Cares is providing skills training and is fund-raising to establish a halfway house for the girls, to help in their transition.
