My friend, Carmita Avila with Rescate Animal Cuenca, called with an urgent request: Can we help Rex?
Poor Rex was rescued in a terrible state of malnutrition, with hormone problems, a serious ear infection and a burst eye. He was recently found to have a serious allergy problem with a solution – changing his food.
Rex is a large, older dog, and a lovely gentleman. Between his size, age and health, after four years, sadly, he is still with Carmita.
Rex’s doctor prescribed ProPlan Ultimates, which has made a tremendous difference. Rescate is a volunteer grassroots organization. $120/bag is more than they can carry on top of the cost of their charges. Rex needs at least four bags, and may need to stay on it forever.
Carmita took in a big dog I rescued, as we could not keep her. She worked with Sky for three years until her forever family adopted her into a loving, responsible home. Great care is taken to make sure that they get exactly what they need. Any extra items are sold in Esperanza Thrift Shop, where all of the proceeds go back into directly supporting the foundation’s work of helping those in need.
