Listening to Spanish is your Achilles’ heel and you know it.
What are you doing to fix it?

Is it really frustrating not being able to competently interpret what you are hearing?
Are you catching just isolated words because spoken Spanish is “too fast”?

So, the first thing you have to do is:
>Develop an ear by listening to organic content/ conversations made by natives for natives.
>Listen to your target dialect and slang, become familiar with them.
Already did the above but it’s not working?
So, time to work with determination on your listening skills.
I am still working one on one.

All the best,

La Vilma Vega.

You don’t need to spend years attending a Spanish school to sound like a native.
Do you know why?

Because if you have survived the boring book and the grammar lessons, by the end of the course you will end up feeling that learning a language is not your cup of tea (reason number 2 why a student refuses to learn a language).

Because no matter how hard you try to master syntax and vocabulary, if you are not able to speak in a decent way in which you feel approved by a native speaker you will end up giving up on any attempt to speak a second language (yes! you nailed it! this is the reason number 1).

Do you relate?
Cultural trips, tons of grammar, a bunch of books on your nightstand but in the practice> afraid like a fish out of the water?

Don’t dance salsa using the rock n’ roll rhythm.
Don’t speak Spanish using your native language rhythm.

Nope! Don’t get me wrong, I am not promising you to buy the world or fluency at the tips of your fingers or in a couple of days, it takes time and effort but here I am to help.

There are some things money can’t buy, for language training I am still teaching one on one.
Because you know… being able to communicate and get compliments for your language skills is…. how to say it… hmm> priceless?
Todo lo mejor,

LaVilmaVega.

What does Hogar de Esperanza do with your donations of clothing and household items? First and foremost, we give them away to those who are most in need of them. Great care is taken to make sure that they get exactly what they need. Any extra items are sold in Esperanza Thrift Shop, where all of the proceeds go back into directly supporting the foundation’s work of helping those in need.

Are you moving soon – perhaps across town or maybe even back home – and you have items that you can’t take with you? Do you wish you had someone to come carry away those items remaining after your moving sale, that you don’t know what to do with? Were you just spring-cleaning last week, and came across clothes in your closets that you no longer wanted? If you would like to do some incredible things with those items you no longer need or want, let us turn them into something valuable to help those in need.

We accept anything that you wish to donate, and put it to immediate use. You can come by the thrift shop, which is located at 8-28 Juan Montalvo y Mariscal Sucre, to drop off items Monday through Friday from 9 AM – 5:30 PM. We also do pick-ups of donations, so feel free to contact us to arrange a time. Thank you so much for your support of Hogar de Esperanza – we could not do any of this without you.

Cooking With Rey “Authentic Southeast Asian Cuisine”

Lemon Grass Chipotle Fillet Mignon:
Experience the exquisite flavors of our Southeast Asian chipotle filet Mignon. This premium center cut of 8oz beef tenderloin is marinated for 6-12 hours in a chipotle lemongrass seasoning, then seared on high heat and finished in the oven to perfection. Served with your choice of garlic chili mashed potatoes, rice, or rice noodles, alongside a small fruit salad and sliced avocado. Chef Rey drizzles her signature smoked chipotle lemongrass sauce around the tenderloin, offering a perfect balance of sweet and spicy flavors. The flavors start out sweet and subtle with a kick of smokey lemongrass at the finish, delivering an unforgettable culinary experience.

Pool health insurance plans, while offering many advantages, can also raise several concerns among policyholders. Understanding these concerns is essential for making informed decisions about your health coverage. One major concern is the stability of premiums. Pools plans are designed to stabilize premiums over time by spreading the risk among a large group of individuals. Another common concern is the scope of coverage and benefits provided by pool plans. Pool health insurance plans typically offer comprehensive coverage, including: Hospitalization, Outpatient Services, Prescription Drugs, Emergency Services, etc. Despite this, policyholders may worry about potential limitations or exclusions. It is essential to review the plan details and discuss specific concerns with your broker. Policyholders may worry about the financial stability of the insurance pool itself. Ensuring that the insurance provider is reputable and financially sound can alleviate these concerns. Brokers play a key role in selecting stable and reliable providers. Also, there is fear that high-risk individuals in the pool might lead to reduced benefits or higher costs. However, the principle of risk sharing helps balance these costs, making it more feasible to provide comprehensive coverage to all members. The presence of high-risk individuals in the pool can be a concern. Changes in coverage terms or provider networks can be unsettling. Staying informed about your plan and maintaining open communication with your broker can help you navigate these changes effectively.

Because it’s worth it!

Otherwise it doesn’t make sense to learn grammar.

What you get from my training:

1) Perform a decent pronunciation without having to feel embarrassed in the process.

2) Master a decent listening without having to learn tons of grammar nor force your brain to thrombosis.

3) Switch from English rhythm to Spanish rhythm without having to live 20 years in a Spanish speaking country.

Three different levels for three different problems.

Where are you at right now in your language journey?

If your pronunciation is not decent enough to be understood by a native Spanish speaker the outcome is feeling dumb for languages.

Where to start?

Pronunciation requires practice/attentive and active listening, then reproducing it.

Will this training change your life like… moving abroad or winning the lottery, getting married, getting divorced or adopting a doggy?
Nope!

What really can change your perspective while navigating a Spanish speaking country-culture will be your attitude (as regards to improving your Spanish you just have to apply what I teach you).

Anyway,

If you need someone to guide you, I am here to help you in September.
