Did you know that if you’re over 65, you’re entitled to a refund of the IVA from your purchases? I thought as an expat, I shouldn’t take the refund as I had not contributed to the system. However, when I realized how little help charities receive from city, province or federal government, I thought Yes! I can help this way, so I did it a few years ago and now I can feel like I have a heart of gold.
At Hearts of Gold, they guide you through the entire process so you can easily claim your refund and choose to donate those funds to support our foundation.

How does it work?
Activate your SRI user and password.
Don’t worry—Hearts’ staff are with you every step of the way. This is a one-time setup only. They will go to the SRI offices with you.
Receive your personalized card.
Present it when you shop at supermarkets, pharmacies, and more, so your purchases are registered.
You’ll receive a message with the exact amount and date your IVA refund is deposited into your personal bank account.
Once the refund arrives, you decide how much to donate to Corazones de Oro.
