A few months ago, we introduced ourselves to this community with a lot of excitement and a little bit of nerves. We are a family Lida, Kerly, and Karen with over 10 years of serving food with heart, right in the historic center of this city we love so much.
What happened next filled our souls.
You came. You sat down. You tried our dishes and smiled. And many of you came back. Some of you even brought your friends and neighbors. To us, that means everything.
Lida wants you to know: the support of those who have chosen Cuenca as their city their home has been one of the greatest gifts this family has ever received.
And because of you, we keep growing. Our menu is now more complete than ever. You’ll find authentic Ecuadorian flavors that have already become part of your everyday life here, alongside options that also remind you of home: fresh salads, bagels, and our Eggs Benedict that have already become a favorite for many of you.
Because we know Cuenca is already yours. And Luma can be too.
Come as neighbors. Feel like family.

If you are filing for a Temporary/Permanent visa, I offer a 100% money back guarantee. That’s right. If I don’t get you your visa, you pay nothing. My name is Isabel Mosquera. I am an Ecuadorian, who studied and lived in Canada for many years. I have been a Visa Facilitator for over 7 years and have assisted more than two hundred and fifty Expats in obtaining their Visas, Temporary and Permanent, Cedulas, Translations, Health Insurance, housing and much more. These services are available as one fee package or individually. I own a car, so transportation is always included at no extra charge. I have always gotten my clients their Visas, even under the most difficult of circumstances, such as unreadable fingerprints for FBI reports. Have you moved to Ecuador without the required documents? Don’t worry, I can help. I offer free consultations, either by telephone, email or in person. I am at the Immigration office on a very regular basis, so I am knowledgeable about all recent changes in the law and am happy to share my knowledge with you. I will be happy to provide you with references.
I look forward to serving you.

As preparations continue for Inti Raymi in Sígsig this June, several people have asked what Inti Raymi actually is and why it continues to be celebrated today.
Often translated as the Festival of the Sun, Inti Raymi is traditionally associated with the June Solstice— the shortest day of the year in the Andes and the beginning of a new seasonal cycle.
Historically, this period marked an important moment in the agricultural calendar: a time of harvest, gratitude, reciprocity, and preparation for the months ahead. Communities gathered to share food, music, dance, and honor the relationships that sustain life—the land, the seasons, one another, and future generations.
Today, Inti Raymi continues to be celebrated throughout the Andes as a living expression of culture, community, and connection.
For many expats, it’s easy to spend years living somewhere without ever fully participating in the cultural rhythms that shape a place.
Inti Raymi invites a different question:
What happens when we move beyond observing a culture and begin learning how to participate in it?
🌞 Saturday, June 20 – Sígsig, Ecuador
Local communities will gather near the Chobshi archaeological site for a free, all-day celebration featuring music, dance, artisan traditions, cultural activities, food, and community festivities.
Free transportation from Cuenca is expected to be available with advance registration.
If you’d like updates on the event, transportation, guided participation opportunities, or future cultural reflections from Casa Aguacolla, feel free to send us a message.

Students’ comments
“… I am a naturally inquisitive individual and I like to ask lots of questions. I have previously taken group classes elsewhere but would come home frustrated, because I would rarely get the opportunity to have more than a few of my questions answered. The concepts I needed to understand were being left as a mystery to me. This is not the case with CCN’s Spanish teachers. They are amazingly patient and also very flexible. They always allow me to focus or redirect my private lesson toward the things I would like to learn…”

According to current regulations, investments for Investor Visas in CD Banks, Real Estate, or Corporations must be at least equivalent to 100 times the basic salary of a worker in Ecuador. This year, the basic salary is $482, therefore, the minimum investment for any of the three options will be $48,200. If the investment does not meet this minimum, the applicant will not be eligible for a two-year temporary residence visa in this category.
Similarly, for investment substitutions, the investment amount must be adjusted to the current minimum investment amount.

Recently it has been verified that many have lost the opportunity to be regular in Ecuador due to bad information received by some facilitators.
The Visa process is a legal issue that must be carefully handled and processed and strictly adhered to the law.
