Indulgent and soothing relaxation massage may not provide treatment, but the psychological benefits of deep relaxation are equally beneficial to the body, mind, and spirit. Intended to relax tense muscles and ease stress, relaxation massage is the perfect antidote to workweek stress and an excellent way to unwind.

This type of massage is entirely customizable. I will tailor the massage to the client’s needs and preferences and increase or decrease pressure accordingly. Gentle and soothing relaxation massage involves rubbing and kneading the upper tissue layers, inducing profound tranquillity that can often lull clients to sleep.

Relaxation massage focuses on the neck muscles and shoulders, where much tension is held, as well as the back, legs and feet muscles for head-to-toe soothing. Fragrant oil aromatherapy is often combined with relaxation massage for a holistic and nurturing sensory experience.

After a relaxation massage, you should feel relaxed, pampered, and recharged. I encouraged to drink plenty of water to help flush toxins and rehydrate the body.

Ecuador is currently undergoing a significant tax reform proposed by President Daniel Noboa. One of the key components of this reform is the increase in the Value Added Tax (IVA) from 12% to 15% for certain goods in the basic basket. However, amid these changes, health services have remained exempt from this tax. This paper aims to analyze the implications of the proposed tax reform on health services in Ecuador, focusing on the significance of the exemption and its impact on accessibility to healthcare for the Ecuadorian population.

The proposed tax reform in Ecuador aims to generate additional revenue for the government by increasing the IVA on select goods. While this may impact the affordability of certain important consumer goods, it is imperative to note that health services have been explicitly excluded from this tax increase because health services are a basic right of human beings and are also protected by the Ecuadorian Constitution. Services such as private health insurance, consultations with medical professionals, medications, laboratory tests, hospitalization expenses, dental services, and veterinary care for pets continue to be exempt from IVA.

The exemption of health services from the IVA increase not only safeguards access to healthcare for Ecuadorians but also supports the sustainability of the healthcare sector. By keeping healthcare costs affordable and accessible, the exemption encourages individuals to seek timely medical treatment, thereby contributing to improved health outcomes and overall well-being. Additionally, the exemption may incentivize investment in the healthcare sector, leading to advancements in infrastructure, technology, and quality of care.

“Growing up in the countryside of Northern Thailand, cooking was as natural as as anything I ever did. Cooking alongside my mother and preparing meals for our family was a part of the rhythm of my day as a little girl.

Our food has always been about people. Our cultural DNA is intricately woven into the food we eat. It tells an intimate story of who we are as a people and a culture.

At Thai Lotus, I want to share more than food, I want to share an experience of my culture that people can take with them.” – Chef Dao.

If you are feeling disconnected from your body, emotions and loved ones and are looking for answers to a particular situation – or you’re finding yourself at a crossroads in life, and disconnected from your internal compass- come be reminded of the magic and beauty of life by joining me and a small group of like-minded people for a ceremonial San Pedro Medicine & Power Walk experience on Saturday April 27th.

San Pedro medicine is a safe medicine with a long-standing, thousand-year history in Andean culture. It’s a remarkable way to re-engage with the psychological and physical body, and to open up to the experience of healthy ‘dissociation’ – a term used to describe the mental process of disconnecting from one’s established patterns of thoughts, feelings, memories and/or sense of identity.

With the proper use of San Pedro medicine in a secure environment, you can experience a restorative shift in your perception of life, self, and current situations you are navigating. This allows you to re-engage with Life and loved ones from a centered place, and to meet any challenges with an open disposition and an invigorated sense of curiosity.

If you’d like to experience this transformative medicine for yourself, please send me an email to join us this coming Saturday, April 27th for an all day (and recommended overnight) experience.

Details:

When Walt Disney was first building Disney, he instructed the construction team to “Build the Castle First”. Walt believed people including the workers and the public needed to see the Dream Destination to create the magic.

At FAAN we are embracing Walt’s philosophy. The Dream a year and a half ago was to purchase the beautiful land in Tarqui to build the first, modern animal shelter in Ecuador and indeed South America. Thanks to your generosity, we succeeded and can see and believe in that dream.

While we carry on with the daily work of adoption, education, and prevention, purely on donations and volunteers, we are asking you to Believe in the Foundation once again. Believe that by the end of the year, we will have raised the needed funds to build this shelter and sanctuary and move the dogs of FAAN, awaiting their Forever home.

Currently, we have a generous donor who will double your donation to our capital campaign while our building team is meeting with suppliers for donated and at-cost construction materials. The amount of donated materials we can obtain will greatly impact the budget.

Your donation this month with a dollar-for-dollar match will assist us greatly in our current negotiations with suppliers. Thank you for considering your gift to the foundation at this significant time for the shelter build and thank you for believing that we can truly make Cuenca known as “The City that Cares” about animal welfare.

What does Hogar de Esperanza do with your donations of clothing and household items? First and foremost, we give them away to those who are most in need of them. Great care is taken to make sure that they get exactly what they need. Any extra items are sold in Esperanza Thrift Shop, where all of the proceeds go back into directly supporting the foundation’s work of helping those in need.

Are you moving soon – perhaps across town or maybe even back home – and you have items that you can’t take with you? Do you wish you had someone to come carry away those items remaining after your moving sale, that you don’t know what to do with? Were you just spring-cleaning last week, and came across clothes in your closets that you no longer wanted? If you would like to do some incredible things with those items you no longer need or want, let us turn them into something valuable to help those in need.

We accept anything that you wish to donate, and put it to immediate use. You can come by the thrift shop, which is located at 8-28 Juan Montalvo y Mariscal Sucre, to drop off items Monday through Friday from 9 AM – 5:30 PM. We also do pick-ups of donations, so feel free to contact us to arrange a time. Thank you so much for your support of Hogar de Esperanza – we could not do any of this without you.
