What: Pawkar Raymi: An Equinox Ceremony in the Andes
When: Sat, March 21, 2026, 11:30 am
Where: Sigsig (90 min from Cuenca)
As the March equinox approaches, an intentional ceremonial space is opening in Sigsig.
In the Andean calendar this time of year is Pawkar Raymi, the flowering season and what many consider the Andean new year. Similar to northern agricultural calendars and the zodiac new year, it is a moment traditionally connected with renewal, balance, and setting intention for the coming cycle.
On March 21, a traditional San Pedro ceremony will be held guided by Tayta IvΓ‘n.
This is a chance to meet the medicine traditions of the Andes in a respectful setting.
The gathering is intentionally paced and held with care. Most participants are local community members, and the space is also open to those living between cultures or moving through periods of transition (identity shifts, emotional integration, grief) or those who feel a desire to reconnect more deeply with themselves and the land here in the Andes.
The ceremony is held in the traditional way, with English-language orientation and support available so those coming from outside the culture can enter the space with context and respect.
This is an open invitation for those who feel curious or called.
If the timing of the equinox resonates, feel free to reach out privately to learn more or request the ceremony overview.
