What: What Festivals Reveal About a Place: Inti Raymi, Community, Reciprocity, and Belonging
When: Wed, June 17, 2026, 3:00 pm
Where: Online
Free Online Conversation | June 17 | 3:00 PM
As Inti Raymi approaches, join us for a guided conversation exploring community, reciprocity, cultural participation, and a different way of learning a place.
Using Inti Raymi and the Andean Raymis as a starting point, we’ll explore what local traditions can reveal about culture, belonging, and the places we call home. Together, we’ll reflect on how participation, observation, and relationship can deepen our understanding of life abroad and the communities around us.
This is not a history lecture or academic presentation. Instead, it is an interactive exploration designed for expats, newcomers, cultural learners, and anyone curious about building a deeper relationship with the place where they live.
Topics include:
• Inti Raymi and the Andean seasonal calendar
• Reciprocity, participation, and belonging
• Cultural curiosity and learning through experience
• Approaching community celebrations with openness and respect
Participants will leave with a deeper understanding of Inti Raymi, a simple framework for cultural observation and participation, and practical ways to engage more thoughtfully with the communities and traditions around them.
This free conversation also serves as an optional preparation space for those interested in attending the Inti Raymi celebration near Chobshi on June 20.
If you’re interested in joining or would like additional details, please send a direct message for the Zoom link.
