As a citizen, he could be given a diplomatic post and diplomatic immunity. The Sec’y of State, María Fernanda Espinoza, said they have been looking for ways to resolve this unsustainable situation. <I’d say that wandering through diplomatic meetings wearing nothing but holey tighty whiteys would be unsustainable.> The Sub sec’y of State disagreed saying that Assange never completed the requirement of 3 years of residency on national territory. Assange’s legal team is petitioning the British government to let him leave. The British answer was “el Gobierno ecuatoriano sabe que la única manera de resolver este asunto es que Julian Assange deje la embajada y se enfrente a la Justicia”. (The Ecuadorian government knows that the only way to resolve this issue is for Julian Assange to leave the embassy and confront the Justice.) <When that guy finally leaves, the embassy will probably have to do a thorough cleaning, repaint, replace flooring, and remodel the kitchen and bath.>

Guess Assange passed his Spanish interview and flawlessly sang the Ecuador national anthem. 😉

    • Karen Lynn Kennedy

If he can even carry a tune….I call foul on this one….

  • Galileo

“$300 million was taken from the fund to reconstruct Manabí and Esmeraldas to provide liquidity in the country. It was returned to the fund in full yesterday. ” Did he return the interest that it earned while he kept it in his account?

  • Robert DeClue

Stop repeating the false libel about Assange’s personal habits. It ws a single satire article for heaven’s sake!

    • Expat Wannabe

Thank you for pointing this out.

  • Acbig1

Is it true that Nancy Pelosi, of the U.S. Demo-Dummy Party, led the effort to secure funding to send an Ambassador to London and resolve this Assange issue? Ahhh. It must be true. I see Dennis Rodman getting on a plane as we speak.

    • Linda

“Demo-Dummy Party”? What is this–recess from grade school? (And I am amused….with DT as president, I would think Republicans would be ashamed.)

  • Hey Jeannie, your comment about Assange walking around in his undies is fake news, published by the satirical ‘the Onion’.

  • ByblosDomingo

Do we really need to know J’s cédula number? That’s weird.

  • edgeof 2

now if Ecuador could only get the country folk from peeing and defacating in the city streets 🙂
