Jazz Ecuador: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
“Singer Mariangel Mundaray had the audience spellbound with her sizzling performance of “Lover Man”. The Jim GalaTrio was superb, and the food was delicious”. —Noel Ferguson

“Jim Gala is a great talent, among the greatest jazz piano players alive. His creativity and musical depth enrich one’s soul. His trio is the amplifier of the universe. Destiny needs you; keep creating!” —James Hill, jazz trumpeter, composer & arranger

“Cuenca is blessed to have such an artist in Jim Gala. I’ve played with some of the greats on both sides of the Atlantic, yet I have never heard such a transformative unique jazz pianist as Jim Gala. Simply put he’s a true musical genius.” —Bill Scott, Broadway Singer, & Arranger

“Jim Gala is one of my musical idols. He is a real soul man. No one plays like him.His musical philosophy, sensibility and taste are impeccable. He changed my life with his music. I actually quote him often and wrote about him in my book. But, maybe I’m laying it on too thick. He’s down to earth and just a cool dude.I may have to go all the way to friggin’ Ecuador just to see him again before I die.” —J. Riley Cain, Pianist, composer & Arranger

These custom made curtains by Artex can be machine washed and hang beautifully afterwards, no pressing needed. Originally paid Artex over $2,100, so these are listed at more than a 50% discount and are in excellent condition.

The prices include all hardware (Mounts, Bars, End Caps & Screws). The white are a semi-sheer material and the tan are thicker and heavier. Remember, if your windows are a slightly different size, these can easily be shortened here for a very minimal cost.

If you are interested in multiples or all of them, I could offer a package discount.

Size Color Price
55L x 49W Tan $55.00
85L x 50W Tan $55.00
85L x 75W Tan $65.00

86L x 69W Tan $60.00
87L x 120W Tan $90.00

What does Hogar de Esperanza do with your donations of clothing and household items? First and foremost, we give them away to those who are most in need of them. Great care is taken to make sure that they get exactly what they need. Any extra items are sold in our thrift shop, where all of the proceeds go back into directly supporting the foundation’s work of helping those in need.

Are you moving soon – perhaps across town or maybe even back home – and you have items that you can’t take with you? Do you wish you had someone to come carry away those items remaining after your moving sale, that you don’t know what to do with? Were you just spring-cleaning last week, and came across clothes in your closets that you no longer wanted? If you would like to do some incredible things with those items you no longer need or want, let us turn them into something valuable to help those in need.

We accept anything that you wish to donate, and put it to immediate use. You can come by the thrift shop, which is located at 8-28 Juan Montalvo y Mariscal Sucre, to drop off items Monday through Friday from 9 AM – 5:30 PM. We also do pick-ups of donations, so feel free to contact us to arrange a time. Thank you so much for your support of Hogar de Esperanza – we could not do any of this without you.

Indulge in a variety of fresh, organic veggies, accompanied by delicious dressings, homemade croutons, olives, cheeses, bacon bits and more. Relax on our spacious outdoor patio and explore the adjacent Artisan fair, featuring Agroecological products.

Did you know many local farmers struggle to sell their veggies at fair prices? Let’s support them by valuing their harvest. As Cuenca blossoms as South America’s culinary capital, let’s incorporate more fresh, unique veggies into our gastronomic landscape.

Mark your calendars for March 23rd-24th, as we celebrate the Pawkar Raymi festival and honor the earth’s bounty. Don’t miss this chance to savor delicious food while making a difference!

We pray that we will see you this Palm Sunday at the International Christian Community to celebrate the victory of Christ in our life.

Come learn how to have victory in the two great wars we face: The War against Fear and the War against Death.

Be inspired by the solo ” Don’t Be Afraid” sung by Wes Elliott and the Message “Believing our Way Out of Fear by Pastor Phil.

See you Sunday!

Deep Tissue Massage works through tension, layer by layer, reaching the deeper muscles where persistent discomfort can be released. Much of the work is focused on bringing the body back into balance by working on the fascia—the soft tissue component of the body’s connective tissue system.

The pressure starts lightly but progresses to the deepest level.

Deep Tissue Massage targets specific areas of concern to alleviate symptoms of nerve impingement, muscle tears and sprains, and chronic muscular pain.

Benefits may include:

Alleviating chronic pain such as neck and lower back pain.
Treating muscle adhesions (muscle fibres that stick together, creating a knot or nodule).
Mitigating neck stiffness, tenderness or pain in the shoulder, upper back or arms.
Helping with sciatica (weakness, numbness, or tingling).
Enhancing circulation
Aiding recovery after injury.

Book an appointment, and I will work to make you feel better.

This weekend marked a huge milestone for FAAN (Fundacion Familia Amor Animal) as we broke ground on the new property in the mountains of Tarqui for the most modern animal shelter in not only Cuenca and Ecuador but South America!

The Foundation is asking community members and animal lovers to give whatever they can to support a $10,000 matching grant in which every donation will be doubled to help us build quickly and be able to move our dogs sooner rather than later with your contribution to our shelter construction fund.

This extraordinary grant means your $10 gift becomes $20, $50 becomes $100 and a generous $1,000 gift is doubled to $2,000.
That’s a double impact.

Thank you, Thank you! As a community, we raised funds last year to purchase the permanent land, (10 acres in Tarqui) so the most abused, abandoned and senior dogs will always have a beautiful sanctuary while they are waiting for their Forever Home.

You can join this “Change their Luck” match in honor of St. Patrick’s Day and the FAAN Circle of Benefactors through a credit card, secure cash pick-up by a FAAN volunteer in Cuenca, bank transfer, or check. US tax deductibility is available through our sister foundation, Amici Cannis.

Blessings to you and lots of Dog Love from FAAN. Together we’re making Cuenca known as “The City that Cares” about animal welfare through shelter, adoption, prevention, and education.
