EE.UU.habrÃa solicitado a Ecuador recibir migrantes — Internal documents from the Trump administration, published on CBS, affirm that the administration asked Ecuador to take irregular migrants from other countries. Ecuador would be one of about a dozen countries with which the US has signed agreements to accept deportees who entered the US in an irregular manner. <Note El Periodico never uses “illegal” when writing about either the immigrants or their manner of entry.” The Ecuadorian CancillerÃa has not issued any statements about the agreement. <Does that mean Ecuador will get El Salvadorians and El Salvadorians will get Ecuadorians? Or will it be worse with El Salvadorians deported to Ecuador, Ecuadorians to Eswatini and Africans to El Salvador?> <The deal was probably that Ecuador takes deportees and gets a lower tariff in exchange. It would be nice if Ecuador then forwarded the deportees to their home countries, unless the deportees like Ecuador better than, say, Gaza or Sudan.>
