Correa diagnosed with pneumonia

Ex-President Rafael Correa admitted himself into Quito’s Carlos Andrade Marín Hospital shortly after the conclusion of of President Lenin Moreno’s inaugural address on Wednesday. A doctor at the hospital said that a CT scan showed that Correa was suffering from pneumonia.

According to friends, Correa had maintained a torrid work schedule in the final days of his administration and had complained recently of headaches and shortness of breath.

According the Quito newspaper La Hora, the doctor who examined Correa said that the pneumonia was not severe and that Correa did not need supplemental oxygen.
