Dance marathon at Parque de la Madre highlights morning activities

Skilled dancers of all ages will compete this morning for best in class prizes at Parque de la Madre, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. The event, sponsored by the national sports ministry, will include a wide variety of dances and music.

A dance floor has been set up at the south end of the park, next to Av. Florencia Astudillo, and dancers will be called in order of sign-ups, depending on style and age groupings.

A jury of dance experts has been assembled to judge performances. The public, including foreign residents, is invited to participate and can sign up at the site of the competition, between 8 and 9 this morning.
