Moreno brings his presidential campaign to Cuenca today and Friday

Presidential front-runner Lenin Moreno visits Cuenca today, with stops planned at a historic district market and at the Jefferson Pérez Coliseum.

Moreno, vice president during President Rafael Correa’s first two terms in office and a member of Correa’s Alianza País party, holds a commanding lead over his seven rivals in the presidential race according to latest poll averages.

After arriving at Cuenca’s Mariscal La Mar Airport shortly after noon, Moreno will have lunch at the Diez de Agosto market on Calle Larga before meeting with Cuenca campaign officials and heading to the Jefferson Pérez Coliseum for  a 5:30 rally.

On Friday, Moreno has a morning meeting with local artisans at the Centro Interamericano de Artesanías y Artes Populares (CIDAP) followed by a meeting with local business leaders.
