The “Inciviles” group will provide the live music. Cost: $5.00.

“Plush” – The 200th performance of this show will be performed on viernes a las 10:00 <How about that? A show that won’t have you geezers out past bedtime.> by the “Teatro de la Vuelta” Collective in el teatro Casa de la Cultura.

Taller – “La Comida Rebelde” (The Rebel Food) <Or did they really mean The Rabbit Food?>, a forum/workshop on veganism will be held el sábado a las 13:00 in “La Komuna” (Coronel Tálbot y Pres. Córdova).

“Arte Calle” – Tuesday’s performance in the parque Calderón was by “Gotas Mágicas,” a Colombian group based in Ecuador.

“Penélope” – The Cuencana actress, Juana Estrella, will perform the work at the Arlington Theater Festival from 21-24/9 in the sala of the Teatro de la Luna.

Otras cosas –

Titular – Ante presión, alcalde pospone su decisión (Under pressure, mayor postpones his decision) – The final proposals to finish the Tranvía were submitted el viernes, and the mayor says he will make his decision this week. Members of the “veeduría ciudadana” (citizen observers) for the Tranvía met to urge the city to sign a contract and not delay the project any more. It also proposed mitigations for the economic damage suffered by businesses along the Tranvía route including a 3% rebate of the IVA and lines of credit at low interest rates and long repayment terms.

Kidney transplant – An autotransplantation was performed at the “José Carrasco Arteaga” IESS Hospital on a patient was suffering intense pain on the left side and whose kidney was transplanted to the right side. At the “Vicente Corral Moscoso” Hospital, an ear reconstruction was done on children with microtia. <When the outside of the ear is not completely developed.> These procedures were the first time the surgeries had been done in the country.

Audits delivered – Deputy Comptroller Pablo Celi delivered 43 boxes containing 130,000 pages on the audits of the contracts signed with Odebrecht to the Asamblea Nacional yesterday.

Bananas – Ecuador supplies 94% of the bananas in Russia and Ecuador’s office of Commerce wants to promote the exportation of chifles (banana chips) to Russia. <Don’t you think chifles would go well with vodka?> Russia currently buys 24% of Ecuador’s total banana export.

Hormigón – There will be a seminar on concrete el 21 & 22/9 in the teatro Carlos Cueva with international panelists from Switzerland, London, MIT and the ACI (American Concrete Institute). Business page – The Four Points by Sheraton Hotel next to the Mall del Río is open although the formal inauguration won’t be until noviembre, to celebrate the Independence Day holidays. The main restaurant is under the direction of Peruvian chef Andrea Solórzano with an Ecuadorian/Peruvian fusion menu. The restaurant will offer a breakfast buffet from 6:30, an almuerzo, and a dinner menu. Their bar will feature the best of local and artesanal beers. It will also an afternoon tea at 15:00.
