Exposición – The 4th World Meeting of Brilliant Women opened a jewelry show Tuesday in the galleries of the Museo Pumapungo. There will be traditional jewelry, accessories, and sculptures and objects in different materials. 50 works from 16 exhibitors from 7 countries will be shown.
Muestra de Pintura – This show of paintings by Pamela Hurtado will open Wednesday a las 19:00 in Saledentro. Free.
Jueves Cine – “Mi tía Toty,” the movie for this jueves, will start a las 19:30. It’s about the life of actress, model, and singer María Rosa Rodríguez, an Ecuadorian who achieved fame in Europe.

MercART Food Garden – This food festival will be held on 4, 5, & 6/10 in the Casa del Río de Quinta Lucrecia and include over 60 exhibitors, an area for a Wine & Beer Garden <Let’s just call that the Gringo Corral.>, and an area with childrens’ activities and games. The patio de comidas (food court – your words for the day) will have national food as well as Mexican, Japanese, Asian, BBQ, Americcan, and salads. <Count me in.>

Forecast – INAMHI has forecasted heavy rains this month which will continue to 4/2020. Emergency declaration – And emergency declaration has been extended for the Los Pinos Altos sector in the ciudadela Jaime Roldós where there was a major slide in 2012 that took out 15 houses. An earthquake last 26/5 caused a slide and destabilization of the soil which puts more houses at risk. Municipal studies show that the fault can be stabilized and has identified a 3.3 hectare zone where the city should do slope protection work on the vía to Sinincay.
Tranvía – The system conducted a simulation of their security plan which analyzed reactions from security and relief agencies in the face of an accident. The city council participated in a workshop to learn when the project will be ready and can restart testing. Maintenance of the system is costing $250,000/mo. 40% of that goes to salaries for 43 conductors, 25 controllers, and 8 maintenance personnel. <Are they even working?
