Exhibitions at MMAM; Symphony tonight; Temu, Ecuador talk cooperation; World’s best restaurant
Exposiciones en Museo de Arte Moderno — 2 exhibits are at the MMAM until July 13, “Narrativas de un país en ciernes” (Narratives of a country in the making) by artists Jorge Vinueza, Claudia Cortez and Pedro Freire and “Pasando Revista” (Passing Review) by Luis Mejía. Both address themes related to the history, identity and social processes of Ecuador. Hours from M-Sunday and from 9-16:45.
Temu explora inversiones logísticas — Minister Luis Alberto Jaramillo met with the director of Corporate Development of Temu who showed interest in investing in logistic infrastructure in Ecuador. They discussed ways in which Ecuador and Temu could cooperate including traceability of digital transactions, prevention of illegal commerce, and promoting the formalization of electronic commerce.
Minister Jaramillo said that Temu showed interest in integrating Ecuadorian products on its platform, opening export opportunities for national small and medium businesses. During the discussion Temu also mentioned the possibility of opening “brick-and-mortar” locations in Ecuador.
Cuenca Symphony Orchestra presents “Harmonies in Bits” – A musical tribute to classic video games such as Super Mario Bros, Pokémon, The Legend of Zelda, Sonic and Minecraft. Thursday, June 26 and Friday, June 27 at 8:00 p.m., at the Teatro de la Casa de la Cultura.
En Perú está el “mejor restaurante” del mundo — Maido restaurant in Lima was named the best restaurant in the world by the British magazine, Restaurant. Other Latin American restaurants included Kjolle in in 9th place in Lima whose owner, Pía León, was head chef at Central which was the best restaurant in the world in 2023. Don Julio in Buenos Aires was in 10th place. Other restaurants in Lima included Mérito (#26) and Mayta (#39). Boragó and Lasai, in Santiago de Chile were at #23 and #28.
