Articles about –
Review – The article reviewed Richard Clayderman’s concert which took place Thurs.
Exhibit – An art show that criticizes consumerism is at the Alcaldía de Cuenca. One work is a set of 3 chairs and a coffee table made from recycled tires (and the chairs look as if they might actually be comfortable). Other pieces are similarly made from reused or recycled objects.
Jazz – A concert with Spaniard Gilberto Rivero which promotes the Festival de Jazz this coming April, will be on 15/9 at 20:00 in the teatro Pumapungo and on Fri., 16/9 at 18:30 in the Teatro Sucre. There will also be a workshop in interpretation techniques. Tickets at the Almacén El Surtido y Más Música. The program will include classic jazz and fusions with Ecuadorian albazos y pasillos.
Casa Museo María Astudillo – The museum, in the house of María Astudillo, shows the style of living over 100 years ago. The house is located at Simón Bolívar y Hermano Miguel with hours from 10-12:00 and 16-18:00. You can reserve a visit at 8423-333. (The style of living is probably the style of the 1% at that time. It’s rare for the styles of living of the bottom quarter to be preserved.)
Otras cosas –
Titular – No habrá voto electrónico (There will be no electronic voting) Voting will be on paper ballots. (Better for a recount if necessary.) CNE also announced that 120 voters who made a change of gender in their cedulas will vote with this modification.
Airport test flight – Mayor Marcelo Cabrera, Cuenca airport director Juan Fernández, and Ecuador Civil Aviation Director Giovanni Dillon were the first to land on the new airport runway Friday afternoon. Click here for more details on the airport.
And that´s all for today so Hasta Domingo –
