Those wishing to participate in the march should gather at Parque San Blas on Simon Bolivar at 5 p.m. The march will proceed up Bolivar to Parque Calderon for a rally.

According to Cuenca Mayor Marcelo Cabrera, the march is also in support of all people with disabilities. “This is about understanding the importance of including those with disabilities in the mainstream of society,” he said. “Our intention is to bring more public attention to the rights of all people with disabilities, including those with autism,” he added.

Cabrera said that public buildings will be decorated with blue to honor the day. The march is titled, “Cuenca vive la inclusion,” or Cuenca lives inclusion.
