This week we continue to thank the businesses who have joined with FAAN in our grassroots effort to not only build the most modern animal shelter in South America but to work with us in a strategic plan to transform animal welfare in Cuenca through prevention, education, and creating a culture of adoption.
JD’s donation of a brand-new recline raised more than $500 at the Gala FAAN-TASTICA auction for our immediate construction funds.

We not only were gifted with a sampling of their wonderful cheeses from the farm in Cotacachi but also a collection of amazing sheepskin rugs that will benefit FAAN the LVO Project and the Indigenous Community of San Antonio del Punge.
Since we own two of them, (one on each side of the bed) we are a testimonial that your doglet and cat will also love to snuggle in these sheepskin fluffy clouds and they clean super easy with soap and water.

Go west towards the Cajas on Ordonez Lasso. When you come to the last roundabout at the end of Ordonez Lasso go straight to the next traffic light and turn right. Follow the red balloons.
Go north straight up the hill and keep driving approximately 4 km until you see a blue and white church on your right. Take a left turn at the second street AFTER the church.
Go a short distance and until you see a big three-story white house on the right with big green gates. Just follow the red balloons and signs!

Spanish speakers from the Ecuadorian Coast speak faster than Andean speakers.
But the real reason why you perceive Spanish like that is because
>Spanish is a syllable timed language while English is a stress timed language (this is what makes you sound foreign while speaking Spanish).
The more you imitate the rhythm, the more you will sound like native Spanish native speakers.
The more you become familiar with its rhythm, the more you will feel confident to speak.

Because we don’t catch the language word by word! We catch the language in chunks.

11 years ago, Jim Gala founded The Jazz Society of Ecuador and its performance venue, the Jazz Society Café in Cuenca. At that time, jazz was almost non-existent in Cuenca and most of Ecuador. Jim, a jazz pianist from New York, was soon joined by saxophonist Su Terry, and their performances and mentorship have not only elevated the local music scene but also inspired a new generation of young jazz musicians. Cuenca’s first dedicated jazz venue, the Jazz Society Cafe, has become the stage for over a thousand live jazz events, and each performance has contributed to Cuenca’s cultural assets and musical legacy.

High-dose Vitamin C is crucial to a healthy body and contributes to your immune defence by supporting and directly stimulating various cellular functions of the innate and adaptive immune systems.
Vitamin C is an essential antioxidant and is responsible for many functions in the body. While not all oral supplements are fully absorbed, IV Vitamin C delivery ensures that 100% of the vitamin is bioavailable.
